Lessons from Mistakes...again!

Mistakes.  I seem to talk a lot about them, but really the reason why I mention them is because we all make them and we can all do something really profound once we realize that they have happened...we can LEARN.

Learning as described in Wikipedia, is acquiring new or modifying existing knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences and may involve synthesizing different types of information.

When a mistake happens, as a result of our actions or someone else s, we automatically tend to look for ways to blame or detract from it and in doing so, we tend to miss the big gift that is being given, the LESSON.

Wether in money, mortgages or life (as my blog is titled), mistakes can be valuable and even priceless!

So, why do we hate making mistakes?  Well, I believe that when you make a mistake, it tends to cause harm in some way, whether physically or psychologically.  This is why we shy away from it as it is usually painful.

BUT, what if we stopped for a moment after we have realized that a mistake is made and really looked at why it happened, and what we could learn from it.

Would we not improve on a bad situation?

Would we not change our views or possibly other's views as well?

Does it not show that we are trying something new, and not every time does it work perfectly right out of the gate?

Einstein believed in making mistakes daily.

I think we all need to appreciate mistakes for what they are and take into account that not all things that are initially painful are bad.

No pain, no gain.

All the beast...I mean "best" for a great weekend!
